1974 Javelin

Vehicle Description

1974 Javelin with 48,125 original miles. Powered by a newly rebuilt 304. The car ran fine but I thought it needed to breath better than it did with the original 2 barrel carb. I only modified it slightly away from its original condition. I have added a slightly larger than stock cam, new lifters and springs, new manifold and carb. Have also changed the distributor and added the pertronix Ignitor ignition. The car has new BF Goodrich Radial TA's and new aluminum alloy rims. I have also changed the single exhaust to dual, but did not add headers. I have kept the original manifold , carb, air filter, cam and lifters, and hub caps. I did nothing to effect the integrity of the car. I only changed what Kenosha didn't. The car is currently garage stored. I have the 1974 AMC Repair Manual, all receipts( as well as tire warranty), as well as a bunch of AMC literature I have acquired.

Vehicle Condition

The interior is in great original shape. There are 2 slight tears on the drivers and passengers seats. These are on the seams. They are small and repairable. The pictures will show that I added a temp gauge and an oil pressure gauge. There was no cutting into the dash to do this. The ashtray was removed and mounting hardware was fabricated to make sure that when removed no damage would be done. The car has original paint and is in very good condition. there are some paint chips and scratches but nothing major. As far as rust there is a small spot on the quarter panel on each size. These do not effect the quarter and can be simply repaired.
